life in the past 48 hours
Ok, so we landed in Cambodia about 48ish hours ago, and we've had a pretty eventful two days. To begin, we had to take a 6 hour bus ride from the capitol city where we landed (Phenom Penh) to the city we're working in (Battanbang) along this 6 hour ride we had several things to keep us occupied. 1, we have to learn 11 words in Khmer so that we can communicate which pantomime we are working on with the Cambodians. 2, our missionaries the Goods put together a travel bingo page that they passed out to each of us to work on while we were on the trip. This bingo sheet included things like; 4< on a moto, two elephants, a "chicken truck", and many other strange objects. one of the objects on the list was 3 water buffalos in a group, this was quite a laugh for some of us because on our first trip to Cambodia in 2009, we were constantly trying to get a picture of a water buffalo because they were so rare. On this trip however, we were trying again to get a good picture of a water buffalo, and despite our efforts, it just seemed that there was some protection around water buffalos that kept them from getting their picture taken. Eventually our bus driver pulled over and stopped so we could get a good picture of one, which we were eternally grateful for ^_^ our third thing that kept us occupied on the bus was riddles and brain puzzles/games, ask me about them if you want a description. While I was showing Kent Good a little trick I know that involves tic-tac-toe he showed me a little game that the Cambodians play instead of tic-tac-toe it was pretty cool, ask me about it if you'd like to play. The final thing I'll put in this post is that we stopped for lunch at a restaurant and when they served the food, they gave us some fish, of which Michael Sciarra and Tim Ma ate their first fish heads, also at this place they had a cage with little alligators, they looked a bit like over grown lizards. Well, im a bit tired and I have too many notes to type them all up now, I'll try and finish everything else in the morning
